Today is Friday, one of the absolute best days in a week. It stands as an accomplishment, a reason to celebrate. Celebrate another work week completed, celebrate the weekend that has begun. Today I started my Friday celebrating a lovely start of the weekend and relaxing with my new iPad pinning every scrumptious and eye appealing pin on Pinterest. It of course consumed way more time than I would have imagined, and in the middle of my pinning I received a text message from my sister in law alerting me of some unfortunate news. The news was that a dear friend of the family was on his way to the hospital where his sister was being airlifted to a local hospital after a serious head on collision. The text was a prayer request, a request which was immediately received and sent directly to The Father.
My prayer started me on a journey to search for a piece of scripture, something to uplift, something to encourage others because I too needed some uplifting promise. I found many sweet sayings and thoughts on Pinterest, a lot of scripture and a lot of the same scripture. It was then when I typed in "Jesus". I was shocked that when I searched HIS name I could only stumble on a handful of pins with Jesus' name in the pin title. Obviously my heart ached and tears welled up in my eyes because I had just been spoken to. I was spoken to through a "random" web search and it was an eye opener that Jesus is needed more than ever in our world. HE should be "pinned" more than any nail color, brownie recipe, or ombré hair color (which I still don't get, isn't that what hair looks like when you are 6 months overdue for a dye job?).
I sometimes hear these lovely stories about people who hear words from the Holy Spirit, I unfortunately hadn't heard words before, only a feeling and a push for action. A push for action is exactly what I got tonight, except there were words along with this push. The words were found in Acts 4:12 NIV "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved". My push is starting with a blog, a blog which I hope encourages and brings light into this dark world. I am asking for patience, and patience, and some more patience because this girl has never written a blog in her life. I don't have a planned schedule, or a planned series of devotions, or life's lessons to work off of, but my guess is The Lord will provide like HE does with everything in life.
